Event Info and Rules
Pricing Includes:
*Four hours(max) venue time that includes set up, event, and clean up-No more than 64 guests
*Half the warehouse separated from the store by curtains
*60" round tables and black wooden chairs. Tablecloths are available to rent
*Serving tables, wine barrels, cute wrought iron cart
*Small prep kitchen with sink, microwave, chest freezer, counter space
*Portable bluetooth speaker to be used at a respectful volume
Payments:
A 50% nonrefundable payment is due to secure the date if the event is outside of 30 days. For events booked within 30 days, the total amount is due at the time of booking. For events booked more than 30 days out, the final balance is due 30 days prior to the event. Invoices can be paid by cash/check/card in person at Market Affair or by card online via the invoice. Any returned checks will incur a $45 fee.
Damage Deposit:
Instead of collecting a damage deposit at the time of booking, a credit card will be required to hold during the event. No damage fee will be charged if all rules are followed and the venue is left how it was found.
Cancellations/Refunds/Reschedules:
No refunds will be given. Save-the-date payments are non-refundable. Once paid-in-full, the only option for cancelling is to reschedule the event one time within 6 months of the original event date.
Alcohol:
Because Market Affair has a TABC Beer & Wine permit, any beer and wine must be purchased directly from them and is limited to beer, wine, and seltzers. NO liquor is allowed on the premises. Since our permit is for on-premise consumption only, NO alcohol may leave the building, so do not buy more than you can drink. No alcohol may be consumed outside the Market Affair building or patio. Depending on the number of guests, a bartender may be required at the host's expense. Bringing in any outside alcohol may result in eviction from the building.
**WE ARE NO LONGER A BYOB FACILITY**
Please respect our property/store:
Unless they are shopping, which we encourage, please keep all guests in your event area. The store is not for "hanging out" and the patio is not a playground. If the Beer & Wine Garden is open after your event, your guests may enjoy it then, but please no back and forth during your event. Please treat our decor, flowers, etc. with the utmost respect. We spend a lot of time making everything nice for your events and photos. Any damage caused by unsupervised children or unruly guests will result in a minimum $250 damage fee charged to the credit card on hold.
**Our time is our inventory. Please NO early birds or lingering in the event space after event end time.**
Decorations:
Market Affair does not allow glitter, paint markers, confetti, birdseed, or sparklers. Command hooks are allowed, but screws, nails, and staples are not. Do not hang anything from the ceiling, conduit, or sprinkler pipes. Candles are allowed but only if enclosed in glass.
Clean Up:
Any food, drinks, or decorations must be removed from the building. The kitchen area (if used) and any uncovered tables need to be wiped clean. Leave any rented linens on the tables. All trash must be taken to the dumpster in the parking lot marked with the yellow arrows. Any spills should be cleaned immediately because of the danger of falling. Please do not stack tables and chairs. Please DO NOT pop balloons inside the building since we do have other customers.
**Our charming town grows more popular every day. As a downtown business, Market Affair cannot be held responsible for any traffic, noise, parking issues, or other possible distractions due to downtown events.**
Market Affair is not responsible for any alcohol-related incidents due to alcohol sold/served during any event. It is expressly understood that you, the customer, are responsible for any damage to Market Affair other than normal wear and tear. Market Affair is not responsible for any lost or stolen items or personal injuries or damage to any personal property of your guests. You will be responsible for all damage to the Market Affair property and to persons and/or property on or about the Market Affair property which result from acts or omissions of you, your guests, members and their guests, and your separately contracted vendors. The Market Affair property is a smoke-free and vape-free venue.
